Corvias Property Management Team Hosts Local Blood Drive

May 17, 2021

Corvias Property Management Operations Director, Meredith Lemasters, partnered with her off-base gym, CrossFit Bohica, to host a long-awaited Red Cross blood drive on May 17, 2021, to benefit the community of Goldsboro.

“We set a goal to donate 20 units of blood, and we exceeded our goal,” said Meredith Lemasters, operations director, Corvias Property Management. “I have to thank my Corvias team for using their paid volunteer time to support me in this important initiative.” Most of the donated blood will stay within the local Goldsboro community, and some will be shipped to where it is needed most.

Corvias offers eight hours of paid volunteer time off for employees to use during the workday as part of its employment benefits package. In 2020, Corvias employees used more than 100 hours of paid volunteer time off to volunteer in their local communities.

The Red Cross has over 135 years of experience providing humanitarian aid, including more than 75 years of supplying blood to those in need.  Every day, the Red Cross provides more than 1,100 services to military members, their families, and veterans.  The Red Cross needs to collect more than 13,000 blood donations a day to help millions of patients around the country each year. 84% of blood donations are given at blood drives hosted and sponsored by organizations like ours.

Corvias Property Management Team hosted an off-base Red Cross blood drive that collected 22 units of blood. The following employees used their paid volunteer time to participate: Victoria Eaton, Randy Harris, Brooke Pate, Jason Maurer, Meredith Lemasters, and Lewis Potter.
